What is the scope of the project?
We aim to replace all gas usage in the home with electricity. We want to maximise use of solar/battery electricity. We want to improve the insulation in the house to get better performance in heating and cooling.
Where is the house?
The house is in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The climate is generally mild, but homes built in the era of our home can have very poor insulation.
What tools are being used?
The bulk of the measurements are being made using Home Assistant, an open source project which can incorporate data from many sources, and control many of the systems involved in our upgrade.
